Vice President of Sales - Relocation Assistance Available

The VP of Sales will be the executive leader for the Consuela sales organization, the sales operations functions and the outsourced customer service operation. S/he will be a champion for the brand and an advocate for incredible customer experience. We are not a “sales-y” company but rather a company that provides products and experiences that Make Today Ridiculously Awesome (MTRA) for our customers, vendors, partners, and team members. We uphold that level of professionalism in all of our internal dialogue and the Sales VP will be a vocal champion for that standard.

This role will own the strategy, execution, and organizational management for the sales channels. Consuela has built a great core wholesale business through long-term relationships and customer acquisition. Our current wholesale sales model consists of markets, in-person visits and an expanding network of outside sales reps that work on behalf of Consuela. The VP of Sales will put processes and reporting in place to drive the best results and customer experience from this team.

Our retail business includes the Flagship store in downtown Austin and another store in Smithville, Texas.

The Sales VP will be expected to be in the numbers and will manage the sales operations functions. S/he is expected to have a preferred analytical approach/KPIs that s/he uses to drive performance. S/he will partner with Finance/Operations/IT/Customer Service to put processes and reports in place to continually monitor the business and adjust strategy/focus where needed.

The Sales VP will be the primary liaison with Customer Service and will insure continuity of message across all touchpoints with the customer. 

Our It’s Not About the Bag (INATB) program is our reason for being.  Consuela was started with the mission of building a business that would allow the brand to do great things in the world and truly leave a positive impact on those that interacted with the brand. The VP of Sales will serve in a leadership capacity in the program.

The VP of Sales will have a leadership role in communicating our mission, vision and values and telling the story about our company, products and team members when developing the strategy and training for sales reps, retailers, customer service, and other internal team members.  S/he will develop and implement a program to constantly train and update the larger wholesale audience in an effort to maintain consistency in our narrative regardless of where the customer interacts with the brand.

The role will be based out of our main office in downtown Austin, TX.   

Requirements and Characteristics:

• 10+ years of sales experience with 5+ years of senior leadership experience in fashion/retail
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to quickly pivot between strategic long-term plans and immediate tactical needs
• Adaptable to ever-changing business landscape as brand continues to evolve
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organization skills with a desire to build repeatable processes
• Proficient user of spreadsheets and KPI reporting - likes to be in the numbers
• Passionate about developing people, with demonstrated experience
• Collaborative approach with strong relationship building skills
• Thrives in the face of reluctance
• Ability to travel 20% of the time
