Technical Designers - 90DEGREE BY REFLEX

Our company is a global sourcing company that specialized in the manufacturing and sales of activewear and sportswear. We are looking for a full-time Technical designer who enjoys a fast-paced, multitask, organized, detail-oriented person to join our team.

Position Purpose and Scope

This position is responsible for ensuring overall quality and fit from initial proto through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong Ability to develop tech packs including sewing construction & detail, graded spec, and “how to measure” application
• Drive time and action calendars and escalate to management accordingly
• Participate in fitting (proto through production). Advise design of all discrepancies between garment received and spec. Record all fit comments assisting designer in resolutions as needed.
• Instruct the factory/agent with appropriate construction, fit and block information to ensure successful manufacturing.
• Conduct live weekly model fittings with management to determine what fit and construction changes are necessary to achieve Design’s requirements
• Collaborate with the Production and Design team from product development to Production.
• Track / receive fit samples and prepare & process for fitting.
• Keep a constant flow of communication with factory/vendor and team members
• Adobe Illustrator is a must skill to have.
• Must have the knowledge to advise very clear direction how to fix the pattern and fit accordingly.
• Maintain professional & clear daily communication with factories regarding construction details, fit, and pattern issues. Ensure that all necessary parties are kept in the loop in a timely manner
• Provide correct clear guideline and direction to Assistant and Associate designers to arrange fit comments
• Attend global conference calls as needed and host accordingly. The need might be that it is outside of normal business hours as Reflex performance is a global company. This is a business need and a requirement of this position
• Arrange QC for actual products from productions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors or Associate Degree in Technical Design or Pattern Making.
• Over 7 years ‘experience in the apparel industry.
• Technical knowledge of sewing machine and garment construction
• Strong knowledge of pattern making and grading and production/manufacturing processes and capabilities
• Must be proficient in MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator. Especially excel must be expert level.
• Ability to conduct a fitting on a live model and communicate pattern and construction changes to create the desired look and fit.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Experience fitting and correcting women’s / men’s garments with designers, taking all comments and preparing specs, and communicating all corrections to factories.
• Self-motivated and self-directed with a continuous desire to learn and grow
• A proactive problem solver is able to troubleshoot and escalate issues effectively.
• Excellent communication, organizational skill, attention to detail, and follow-up skills
• Must have the responsibility for work and following directions.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.A
