Technical Designer - Ladies

Yjm Apparel is a ladies, mens and kids wholsale apparel house and we are looking for a dynamic individual to compliment our ladies team. 

Responsibilities:

• Create initial specs through production fit approval and pre-production.
• Conduct fitting session, communicate with factories and send detail pattern corrections and garment construction.
• Daily communication with overseas factories on all fit comments and questions to identify and resolve issues with garment construction and production.
• Communicate with design team and update measurements and specifications sheets.
• Review and evaluate fit samples for spec, pattern shape, and construction.
• Maintain consistency in fit across all ladys apparel categories.
• Collaborate with Design and Production/Sourcing on apparel development, to create cost effective styles.
• Evaluate fit to determine if manufacturer has met the requirements of the garments and that all security measures for child safety are noted and called out.
• Ensure all specs and detailed fit comments are conveyed to vendors accurately and in a timely manner.
• Utilize digital photos, technical sketches, detailed instructions, and comments from fit sessions to communicate corrections.
• Move quickly from one assignment to another assignment as needed.
• Follow up with factories to assure all corrections will be complete in a timely manner.
• Approve garment for production or reject sample and schedule follow-up fit session.
• Organize and maintain samples for each season.

Education and Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in technical design or related.
• Knowledge of Ladies Wear Apparel.

Skills and Behaviors:

• Demonstrated knowledge of grading, pattern construction, apparel fitting and fit comments 
• Ability to work independently to meet multiple deadlines.
• Strong Excel , Illustrator, and Outlook skills
• A team player that can work well with others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly growing and expanding company.
