STORE LEADERSHIP TRAINEE

Store Leadership Trainees, or SLTs (Leaders in Training), go through a 12 week structured training program that prepares you to be an Assistant Store Manager in one of our $10M-$20M dollar Kohl’s stores. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be placed as an Assistant Store Manager.

As an Assistant Store Manager, you are a part of the store executive team and you will have a significant role in leading associate development as well as assessing and evolving your own development. Our Assistant Store Managers are the champions for collaborating, communicating, educating, embracing a customer-centric mindset and taking initiative to lead business directives and workload demands.

Career Growth:

After successful completion of the 12 week training program, SLTs are placed in a store with an available opening as an Assistant Store Manager. The potential developmental career path of an SLT: SLT, Assistant Store Manager, StoreManager, District Manager.

Location and Start Date:

With over 1,100+ stores, the Store Leadership Trainee position is available nationwide. We offer start dates in February, April, June, July, August and September based on your graduation date.

Program Highlights:

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with a graduation date between Spring 2023 and Summer 2024
  • Desire to pursue a career in retail management
  • Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Flexible schedule. Work hours will be based on business needs; must be available nights and weekends
  • Relocation support is available for high growth markets
