HEADWEAR DESIGNER (FREELANCE / REMOTE)

Shanghai Style Fashion Accessories Co., Ltd is a leading overseas headwear and accessories manufacturer since 2001.  Our company owns three headwear factories located in Vietnam & China.  We manufacture headwear for well recognized brands and retailers including Hurley, Volcom, Billabong, RVCA, Gap, Athleta, H&M, Levi’s and more.  Our core categories include baseball caps, bucket hats, boonies, trappers and knit beanies.

Position: Freelance Headwear Designer

Location: Remote

Position Type: Freelance

Position Overview:

The Headwear Designer brings product concepts and ideas to life.  You will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, designing, and bringing to life inspirational headwear that will be shared with our diverse clientele and targeted prospect accounts.  You will work independently to create your design collections as well as collaborate with our sales manager and overseas production teams to translate trends and market insights.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and develop inspirational headwear designs for five trade channels: Athleisure, Surf/Skate, Outdoor, Golf and Fashion.  Core silhouettes including but not limited to baseball caps, bucket hats, boonies, trappers and knit beanies.

• Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify emerging styles, materials, and techniques.

• Develop accurate tech packs with clear communication on sample expectations.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, production, and sales team.

• Stay abreast of industry developments to remain inspired and informed

• Plan, direct and oversee all operations of this freelance project.

• Know the market and study our key client’s product assortment.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in the field of design accessories with emphasis on headwear (baseball caps, bucket hats, beanies and more).

• Proven experience as a headwear designer, preferably within the athleisure, surf, skate, golf, outdoor channels.

• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of accessory designs, demonstrating creativity and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.  Previous experience with WGSN.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.

• Ability to travel for tradeshows and sales appointments.

Compensation: 40-50 Tech Packs for $5K-$7.5K
