POSITION: Senior Technical Designer / Denim

Reports to Production Manager

Collaborates with Creative Director and Design Team

Responsibilities include calendar adherence and spec reviews.  The Senior Tech Designer will be able to establish, develop and direct fit strategy, to include construction detail, measurement, and grading.  This position will report to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Daily collaboration with cross functional team to gain clear direction on calendar.
• Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for any process changes that would maximize efficiency.
• Work closely with cross functional team to understand the vision and carry it through to production without compromising the vision.
• Communicate with overseas partners and agents to answer any questions regarding submission of samples and comments.
• Track and manage workflow and workload for own product and ensure product areas are maintained with cross-functional team; gather information and update all reports as necessary.
• Match bill of material with sketch and garment construction information
• Complete all Tech Packages in PLM (this includes technical specs and construction)
• Complete all fit comments in a timely manner.
• Provide technical expertise to the design team, technical team, oversea.  Foresee problems and offer alternatives. 
• Provide complete and articulate fit comments (includes any needed point of measures, sketches and/or digitals)
• Correct patterns as needed to achieve the best possible fit.
• Ensure size and fit consistency across product categories.
• Identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity.
• Lead in problem solving during fittings as well as ensuring all information is identified in the fit room.
• Support the technical designers in managing workload and pattern corrections.
• Ensure the established grade rules are being used and problem solve grading where necessary in order to maintain fit consistency.
• Support PLM database for grade rules, POMs, HTM and tolerances.

Qualifications are as follows:

• 10+ years working experience as Denim Technical Designer in the apparel industry.
• Proficient and strong in Adobe Illustrator
• Proficiency in PLM programs 
• Strong technical knowledge of construction and fit 
• Meets and strives to increase productivity and build standards.
• Expert in patternmaking OR pattern corrections, grade rules, markers, and yield
• Proactive approach to problem solving.
• Adaptable in cross-functional team-oriented tasks 
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Must be a team player. Must have a can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
