We are currently seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our Bags department!

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Product Designer brings product concepts and ideas to life. Driven by passion for trend, they lead and drive the research, concept creation and sampling development for licensed accessories. They communicate their point of view through visual presentations to peers, clients, development partners and customers. They coach and develop other designers, inspiring excellence, and talent development.  Senior Designers manage large and complex businesses and are constantly looking for new ways to evolve and grow the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

A Sr. Product Designer will work in partnership with the Category Manager to:

  • Lead collaboration with sales partners: line planning, product strategies and design focus.
  • Lead research and set category trends each season. Constantly surface relevant newness.
  • Ideate and interpret relevant ideas into product concepts. Partner with stakeholders to vet concepts.
  • Plan, direct and oversee all operations on a category or line of business.
  • Create and manage products within product lifecycle management system (PLM)
  • Know the market: continuously study the competitive set and key client retailers (instore and online). Document and keep detailed research on current customers and competitors.
  • Track product counts, brands, suppliers, countries of origin, materials, features and prices.
  • Keep a pulse on consumer reviews for design solutions and opportunities.
  • Stay on top of product, licensed and pop culture trends. Understand timing and integrate into product concepts and designs.
  • Address and manage feedback from all stakeholders. Develop design solutions which accommodate best intent while maintaining design integrity.
  • Develop accurate tech packs with clear communication on sample expectations.
  • Review and comment on all product samples with vendors, updating specs and instructions as needed to meet final product expectations.
  • Support the training and development of associate/designers by goalsetting, coaching, and project delegation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in the field of design accessories/or apparel
  • Prior experience coaching and managing teams (task delegation/team development)
  • A developed and versatile portfolio of graphic and product design
  • 3+ years’ experience growing and maintaining a category of business
  • Experience using product management software (PLM)
  • Experience with sample development and communication with factories, agents, etc.
  • Creative, trend driven innovator who is customer obsessed
  • Excels in highly collaborative environment with different work groups
  • Passion for fan culture and pop culture product
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Can-do and solution driven mentality, even keeled and upbeat, with an appetite for continued improvement and learning
  • Proficient in: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, & In Design. Previous experience with WGSN and Edited a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams and Outlook)
  • Versatile and fluent in using MAC and Microsoft products.
  • Retail accessories/apparel experience or Entertainment industry experience a plus.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Design for Apparel/Accessories, Visual Communications, Fashion/Industrial

BUSINESS HOURS 

We have a Work from Home flexible schedule. We work 3 days in office and 2 from home. Schedules can vary based on deadlines and projects.
