SENIOR DIRECTOR SALES

This US owned company has tripled its growth since 2018. They are over a billion in sales and continue to grow.  They are an international company with over 2000 employees. They have an industrial business for PPE and a retail business. This opportunity will be located either in Montreal or Toronto areas, Montreal is preferred.

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Director of Sales to lead our Canadian sales team and drive revenue growth for the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of leading successful sales teams in achieving business objectives. As the Senior Director of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, fostering a high-performance sales culture, and building strong relationships with key customers and partners. Your expertise in sales management, market analysis, and team leadership will be instrumental in driving our company's growth and market expansion.

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Collaborate with North American Industrial stakeholders to set sales targets and create a sales forecast for the Canadian Market
  • Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives

Sales Team Leadership:

  • Serve as the leader and mentor to the regional sales and strategic account teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, sales excellence, and accountability
  • Establish clear performance metrics and conduct regular performance evaluations for the sales team

Sales Execution and Performance Management:

  • Lead and participate in key sales negotiations, strategic deals, and relationship-building activities
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary

Customer Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key end users, distributors, and other strategic partners across the region
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales efforts with product offerings and marketing initiatives

Sales Reporting and Forecasting:

  • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the executive team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities, providing actionable insights to the leadership team

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Oversee the sales budget and resource allocation to maximize profitable sales growth
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards
  • Complete other adhoc duties as required

Responsible for leading performance management, target/goal setting for a team of 10 sales professionals across Canada. Team includes:

  • 3 Regional Sales Directors
  • 6 Regional Sales Managers
  • 1 Strategic Accounts Leader

Core Skills/Competency Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline. MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in sales, with prior experience leading large sales organizations. Prior experience should include both strategic accounts and field sales
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a focus on driving performance and employee development
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, assess market trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales performance analytics tools
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
