SENIOR CONTEMPORARY DESIGNER - Women’s Knits and Wovens

Our client, a well-established Ladies contemporary Brand is searching for a Senior Designer for immediate hire. Must have a Contemporary aesthetic designing knits and wovens. Develop and create vision for new product line assortments collaborating with the cross functional team. Strong tops experience is a plus. Lead the team with design concept and product assortments.

Responsibilities:

Manage the design and development for knits and wovens

• Manage placement strategy and follow-up by recommending product placement
• Develop design strategies and execution for knit and woven tops
• Involved in all product development and sales meeting projecting future fabrications
• Evaluate vendor mix and size of vendor base.
• Develop time and action calendars for programs
• Prepare trend boards for management meetings
• Daily communication with overseas suppliers on all production details, and costing
• Manage product integrity and order specifications compliance.
• Approve lab dips, new fabric developments and the general flow of the process

Qualifications

• 5 plus years of experience in apparel production and development
• Knowledge and understanding of knit and woven fabrics
• Proficiency in illustrator and Photoshop
• Problem-solving abilities meeting deadlines.
• Microsoft Office Programs
• BA Degree

Salary: $100,000- $120,000
