PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Apparel Production Assistant. As an Apparel Production Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the production process of our apparel line. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of relevant experience in the fashion industry, possess strong organizational skills, and be detail-oriented. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing company in the heart of New York City.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the production team in managing the end-to-end production process of our apparel line, from concept to delivery.
  • Collaborate with designers, patternmakers, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of production samples.
  • Coordinate and maintain production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and any issues or delays are promptly addressed.
  • Oversee the sourcing and procurement of materials, trims, and components required for production.
  • Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure products meet the company's standards and specifications.
  • Manage and organize the production samples and maintain accurate records of all production-related documentation.
  • Communicate with overseas manufacturers and suppliers to track progress, address any production issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Support the team in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new production techniques, and emerging technologies to contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes.

Qualifications: 

  • 1-2 years of experience in apparel production, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, materials, and production processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with production software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with overseas production and experience working with international suppliers is advantageous.
