PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

We are currently seeking Product Development Manager to join our team of outstanding employees!

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Product Development Manager will define and manage strategic actions related to product development in line with business unit targets and priorities for the Bioworld brands. Will be responsible for managing a team of product designers and appropriate support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate would:

  • Expertise in Home Product development and material development
  • Strong knowledge of working within the licensing industry
  • Strong knowledge of the apparel industry and product/textile technology
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate future trends and translate them into action
  • Solid organizational skills, analytical ability, and planning ability
  • Keen ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Track record of meeting and achieving goals successfully
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively at all levels of a global matrix organization
  • Encourages diverse thinking to promote innovation within the business unit
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel 10-15% domestically and internationally

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO

  • Create and drive product development strategies and manage product development calendar
  • Contribute to the product creation process by bringing product, material, manufacturing and sourcing expertise to the development process
  • Communicate and negotiate with global manufacturing partners on quality, speed to market, and accuracy to tech packs
  • Guide R&D PD through new body/style, fabric, and wash/print development (moving process forward)
  • Manage and research new technologies and materials to drive continued innovation
  • Relentlessly seek improvement solutions for more efficient product creation
  • Provide solutions to reach targets; drive final negotiation at style level with vendors and retail partners
  • Partner with Sales/Merchandising/Fit Teams to drive consistency, efficiency, and win/win business solutions
  • Work with DMM and Merchandise Team to help create/build, execute, and manage seasonal product lines
  • Partner with Sourcing Team to deliver fair on-time costing and product delivery

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

BS degree in art, textile science, or similar area; or equivalent experience.

BUSINESS HOURS

Hours of operation: Monday-Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm; Overnight travel is required.
