PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, HEALTHCARE

This privately held company has been in business for over 100 years and has three divisions: Retail, Hospitality and Healthcare. US, privately held company. Full benefits and a remote opportunity. You do need to be able to travel to customers when needed. This is remote, but we do need someone in the CST or EST time zones. Healthcare Product Development Manager: A leading textile manufacturer seeks organized, detail oriented, and innovative individual to assist with Product Development in the Institutional Division with a focus on Healthcare. This position reports to the VP Product Development & Innovation. This is a full-time salaried position. This is a remote position with travel required.

The Scope of your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Product Development:
  • Provide expertise on Healthcare market intelligence and recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests. Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales
  • Develop customer presentations for meetings, including preparing samples, agendas and conducting follow up on customer meetings.
  • Organize and maintain all incoming samples and sample requests for healthcare customers and internal reference
  • Submit sample requests to overseas mills, track timelines on requested samples and communicate timelines to customers and sales team
  • Frequent customer meeting attendance will be required so a high comfort level in meeting customers and giving sales presentations is a critical skill
  • Create and maintain specification sheets, which require frequent communication with overseas partner mills regarding new and existing products, via Teams/conference calls and emails
  • Work with overseas teams’ priorities and give clear, concise directions on developments and follow up
  • Participate in brainstorming with the Global PD team to develop new innovations in the healthcare industry
  • Supports with the creation and maintenance of marketing materials as needed
  • Experience developing apparel items and understanding general garment construction
  • Development and implementation of strategies for expanding both product lines and customer base

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of marketing, sales, product development experience (preferably in the healthcare industry)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Strong Adobe Suite skills: Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Must be proactive, able to multi-task and possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written
  • Able to work well under pressure and manage tight deadlines
  • Experience in commercial textiles/apparel is a plus
  • Moderate travel is required to attend customer meetings
