PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT / DESIGN ASSISTANT

MASONgrey is seeking a product development/design assistant to be apart of our small but growing team! If you aren’t familiar with us, MASONgrey is a luxury loungewear line that doesn’t make women choose between feeling comfortable and feeling sexy. After starting in Farmer’s Markets and Popup shops, MASONgrey is now sold in Nordstrom and on Shopbop.com and is loved by influencers. Made out of a delicious “cloud fabric,” our pieces cater to every body type and are made right here in Los Angeles. 

We're looking to hire a full time product development/design assistant. You will be assisting our production manager with daily tasks. 

Our office is located in Van Nuys, office hours are 8-4 but not limited to those times.

Qualifications: 

• Familiarity with all aspects of production from design and development to production approvals and P.O. management. 
• Must have reliable transportation - this role involves traveling to factories to pick up materials 
• Fluent in Spanish is a plus, but not required
• Excellent communication and written skills with initiative to follow up 
• Basic knowledge of quality control 
• Communicate daily with cross functional departments 
• Track samples and approves according to calender due dates
• Create tech packs for new developed styles 
• Follow the purchase order process for timeliness and accuracy 
• Attend fittings to familiarize yourself with managing and costing aspects of the fit. Communicate notes/changes from fitting 
• Basic fabric knowledge
• Track, add and maintain files 
• Track fabric, lap dips, and trim development/trims 
• Communicate with internal and external partners to resolve production and product development issues quickly and efficiently
• Basic knowledge of tech-packs and pattern cards
• Idenity key silhouettes, fabrics and trims that are relevant to the MASONgrey customer 
• Maintain organinzation of styles and style information throughout the entire design process
• Must know how to measure a garment
• Positive attitude and a team player to help build our growing company! 
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft suite and illustrator & photoshop
• Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment and ability to adapt to changes quickly
• Proven track record of operating independently, maintaining organization, STRONG FOLLOW UP SKILLS, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously 

Responsibilities: 

• Manage entire development process including, but not limited to, sketching, costing, sampling, construction, color, fit and final approvals
• Coordinate production schedules to ensure deliveries are on time 
• Act as a liaison between factories and MASONgrey to ensure production is running smoothly and schedules are on time 
• Order materials and trims, and check material as well
• Receiving Inventory
• Knowledge of quality control
• Purchasing trims  
• Trips to downtown weekly

Salary depends on experience, benefits and insurance.
