Patternmaker (First through Production)

Helsi was founded in 2021 as a women's special occasion dress brand.  We currenly sell to Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Anthropologie and over one hundred specialty boutiques.  We are a small team and this position would require working directly with the owner/designer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Work directly with the designer to interpret pattern requirements
• Work with the Tech Designer to ensure that the tech packs are accurate 
• Create patterns by both hand and via pattern software 
• Communicate with the Tech Designer and the overseas team to ensure the correct pattern construction
• Ensure notches match each garment panel & are labeled correctly for sample sewers and production.
• Work with Design, Tech, Sewing, and Production
• Attend fitting sessions 
• Write clear sewing instructions for overseas production and communicate clearly with contractors.
• Basic grading knowledge
• Revise patterns, and spec sheets when needed.

Minimum Qualifications 

• Degree in Pattern Making
• A minimum of 5 years previous hands-on experience as a Dress Patternmaker
• Excellent drafting skills.
• High level of proficiency in draping
• High level of proficiency in hand patterns
• Adobe Illustrator advance skills
• Experience with measuring garments
• Full knowledge of sewing and garment construction`
