Menswear Designer - HYBRID

TAILORBYRD - A fast paced Menswear lifestyle apparel company is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Designer to join our small but mighty team. The right person will be a team player with a sense of urgency. We have fun but work hard!

Responsibilities

• The Designer for our TailorByrd Menswear Brand is responsible for the administration and follow up of the product design process
• Assist in the conceptual development of all product lines (Sportswear, Sportcoats, Golf/Activewear)
• Assist with CAD design & Technical Design information
• Responsible for administration and follow up of product design process including preparation of tech packs with specs, sketches, detailed construction notes, fabric & trim information, swatch cards, etc
• Communicate with overseas factories on a daily basis on sample corrections, color, fabric, and trim approvals
• Update and maintain product development logs, line sheets, fabric swatches, and design archives
• Responsible for tracking the Sample Cycle from beginning to end including creating & updating excel sheets to track all samples and factory notes & communication
• Meet all deadlines in adherence to our seasonal design calendars
• Organize and maintain the design archives, libraries and overall design dept organization
• Monitor lab-dips, knit-downs, strike offs and handloom approvals
• Assist with Style # creation and Sales Catalogs & Line lists
• Attend Tradeshows and shop market for innovation and new product ideas
• Assist with other duties and projects as required to help support the overall business
• Must be a multi-tasker!

Qualifications

• Associate and/or bachelor degree in fashion design or related field
• 3+ years experience in menswear a MUST!
• Technical sketches in Illustrator
• Basic computer knowledge
• Working knowledge in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
• Clo3d experience is a plus but not a must
• Ability to learn how to design through new/advanced technology 
• Basic knowledge of product and fabric
• Basic knowledge of design and color
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Canva
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to work in a fast-paced small office environment
• Self Motivated with a Sense of Urgency & Fun, Flexible, Attitude

Compensation

• Flexible and dependent on experience.

Must be able to work IN NYC office AND Remote. We work in the office Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday and remote Thursday and Friday.
