MARKETING / VISUAL INTERN

Overview

The Marketing and Visual Intern will learn about both Marketing and Visual Merchandising. This will be a split internship in both departments to gain an overview of SPARC’s Visual Merchandising and Marketing roles.

Responsibilities

Marketing Focus

  • Assist the marketing team in the execution of in-store and external marketing efforts with a focus on local campaigns including updating mall marketing sites with current Aeropostale & Nautica promotions.
  • Assist in briefing in store and online advertising efforts consisting of emails, site updates, store collateral and more.
  • Monitor and report on retail competitors
  • Assist on photo shoots activities (creating photo libraries, preparing shot documents, presentation boards, shot lists etc.).
  • Provide research, maintenance, and support for assigned departmental projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Participate and provide feedback in group meetings and discussions if applicable.
  • Perform such other duties as directed by the supervisor

Visual Merchandising Focus

  • Retrieve, unpack, process, and organize all visual samples for Aero and Lucky.
  • Maintain stockroom organization and complete frequent merchandise purges.
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of mock stores.
  • Fold, hang, and style merchandise.
  • Prepare mock stores store for all scheduled events and walk-through’s.
  • Organize and place marketing elements as directed
  • Assist in creating and utilizing merchandise checklists.
  • Assist management team create seasonal floorset guides.
  • Uphold all corporate visual, marketing and operational standards.
  • Work directly with visual management to execute all assigned visual direction.

Qualifications

  • Relevant coursework in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Detail oriented individual with strong organizational, communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Highly motivated, strategic thinking and self-starting individual.
  • Must be available for 12 weeks/40 hours per week.
  • Adhere to regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration. Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards and Company’s policy.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods
  • Ability to position self to reach at or below shoulder level
  • Ability to carry equipment, move boxes/samples, etc.
