Knit Designer - Women's - U.S. Polo Assn. Brand

Role & responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the design process from concept to completion while partnering with the Director to ensure alignment on priorities and direction
  • Actively participates in the conceptual development of product lines and present ideas for each season showcasing silhouette, fabric, and print, pattern, color range
  • Conceptualize and create compelling, brand right Women’s fashion Knits for all Seasonal Deliveries
  • Create tech packs for all development samples, including sketches, construction details, and layouts
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, Fabric, and Technical Design teams to achieve product execution and maintain design integrity while keeping abreast with the product approval process

Qualifications and skill requirements

  • College degree in fashion with 5-7 years of experience working with in cut n sew knits.
  • High taste level, a collection based mindset, understanding of brand aesthetic, and creative ability
  • Strong knowledge of fit, fabric, construction details and pattern, color.
  • Proficient sketching in Illustrator and highly skilled in Photoshop.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication
