Freelance Senior Technical Designer - $110K

We are in search for a seasoned Senior Technical Designer who has a strong knowledge and understanding of garment construction  Contemporary / Missy cut & sew  Knits /Woven Tops, Bottoms, Sweaters and Dresses/ Mens RTW all catogories.  Look and fit to our customers disired spec and are made at the highest level of quality standards with our private label and branded accounts. The role includes overseeing the fit process from design to production to include PPs and TOPs, generating very clear measurements of each fit and pointed tech packs, and working closely with our design and production departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with Design team to develop initial designs, tech packs, and technical garment specifications.
• Work closely with our retail partners Techincal Design team on all fit comments to provide details to factory.
• Manage all aspects of fittings, construction and technical issues, and product evaluations.
• Edit tech packs to clearly communicate pattern changes and corrections to the factories.
• Act as the point of contact for factories and answer questions regarding fit, specs, pattern, and construction.
• Maintains professional and timely daily email correspondence with overseas vendors
• Executes fit comments in a timely manner to ensure the fit process stays in line with production and action timelines while partnering with the Production team on lead time priorities, where applicable.
• Issues grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval.
• Responsible for reviewing pre-production samples (PP’s) for adherence to approved fit and construction standards and executes comments as needed to complete the PP approval process and move the process forward to production. Partners with Production Manager as needed to resolve issues on PP’s and in relation to timelines.
• Tracks and manages workflow and workload for own product to ensure product areas are maintained with cross-functional teams while partnering with the Design team and production team on critical priorities, as needed.
• Must be comfortable workign in a fast paced enviorment.
• must be edetailed oriented with excellent commucation sending commnets to factory side.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design/Technical Design/Pattern Making
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the apparel industry including patternmaking and construction experience with full knowledge of production process.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and product development process
• Expert in pattern-making, sewing, and garment construction
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Illustrator experience.
