FREELANCE SAMPLE ASSISTANT

Our client, an established retailer specializing in affordable clothing items for men and women. Their product assortment includes apparel, accessories, and footwear. They are looking to bring on a talented Freelance Sample Assistant to help assist with day to day needs.

SALARY/HOURLY RATE:

$18/hr

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Freelance Sample Assistant role is an administrative function that supports the Merchant team. The Freelance Sample Assistant is responsible for receiving and organizing all samples from the vendors. This role tracks samples, preps for review meetings, and assists in disposal of samples after meetings, mini marts, and style outs.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FREELANCE SAMPLE ASSISTANT:
  • Responsible for ensuring timely arrival of samples through reporting and communicating with Vendors and Merchants to address delivery/arrival issues
  • Assists in taking all necessary photos and catalogs appropriately in sample system
  • Responsible for all sample review meeting preparation
  • Retrieves all samples for sample team review as well as merchant review meetings
  • Coordinates scheduling of meetings between the sample team and the merchants
  • Returns all samples to storage and catalogs in sample database
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE FREELANCE SAMPLE ASSISTANT:
  • One year minimum related work experience and/or retail experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable in an office environment, both working at a computer and doing physical activity (e.g., unpacking boxes, moving sample racks)
  • Must be a team player and able to be flexible/adapt as priorities and processes change
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Able to lift packages of up to 35lbs
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or GED is required
