FREELANCE MERCHANDISE ASSISTANT - Off-Price Fashion Company

This Freelance Merchandise Assistant role is for an established off-price fashion company that specializes in men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, home goods and more. This lively, developing company is looking for a talented and organized Freelance Merchandising Assistant to work in their corporate offices.

Salary/Rate: $15 - $20/hr

Position Overview:The Freelance Merchandise Assistant will be directly supporting the Merchandising and Buying Team, to set up new products, create and track purchase orders, assist with the creation and distribution of weekly sales reports, and be able to identify relevant trends to support the team in increasing sales. The Freelance Merchandise Assistant requires organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to communicate with all cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Merchandise Assistant:

• Prepare, update, organize, and distribute weekly sales reports, and provided analyses to Merchant or Associate Merchant
• Support Merchandising Team with daily needs
• Ensure that all information and samples are set up and organized in an easily accessible
• Develop relationships with cross functional team members and external partners
• Assist with the development of merchandise assortments, sales analyses, and manage product samples for specific departments
• Conduct research on competing brands and retail competition to identify trends

Qualifications for the Freelance Merchandise Assistant:

• Proficient in Excel (v-look up, Pivot tables, etc.)
• High level of organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to develop and foster relationships with partnering teams and external clients
• Ability to monitor and source trends
• Ability to meet all deadlines in a timely matter
• Fashion/Retail or related experience preferred

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
