FREELANCE MERCHANDISE ASSISTANT - $15 -17/hr - NYC

This established multi-brand department store specializes in various categories, such as women's, menswear, accessories, and footwear. This company is looking for a potential candidate that wants to grow their career by starting as a Freelance Merchandise Assistant.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $15-17/hour

Position Overview: For the Freelance Merchandise Assistant, we are looking for someone to support the head merchant and buying team within our multi-brand department store.  The Freelance Merchandise Assistant will be responsible for data entry, product tracking, and ad-hoc assignments.  This role requires organization, excel skills, aptitude to pick up on new systems, and the ability to be a team player. 

Responsibilities for the Freelance Merchandise Assistant: 

• Create purchase orders in system
• Manage and organize product samples
• Update pricing information
• Maintain reports upon request by merchant team
• Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
• Demonstrate ability to be financially responsible
• Partner with the marketing team for ad or e-commerce needs
• Run reports upon request of the merchant team

Qualifications for the Freelance Merchandise Assistant: 

• 4 year degree preferred
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Identify priorities with a sense of urgency
• Experience within a retail or fashion role
• Proficient in Excel, including V Look Ups and Pivot Tables
• Attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements: 

• Bachelor's Degree
