Drop Ship Merchandise Assistant - Belk.com

 

 

The Drop Ship Merchandise Assistant is responsible for all components of product set up, product attribution, and product data accuracy for items on Belk.com. This associate manages quality and timeliness of product set up for a variety of vendors and is accountable for deadlines based on strategic priorities and sales volume. The role requires proficient communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with all levels - internally and with the vendor community.

 

 

Essential Functions:

• Initiate, attribute & validate products for belk.com. Manage entire set up process for drop ship merchandise.

• Operate in merchandising and eCommerce systems including GXS, RMS and Salsify.

• Maintain cross-functional relationships with buying, logistics, and item database teams to ensure accuracy in product set up and pricing.

• Facilitate vendor relationships to solicit and coordinate vendor provided assets including product images, attributes and descriptions.

• Prioritize weekly workflow based on sales volume and key team initiatives.

• Escalate technical systems issues with documentation to merchants and appropriate IT teams.

• Propose process improvements and coordinate peer workload.

• Prepare & distribute weekly sales reports for merchant.

• Support merchant with additional administrative duties.

 

 

Education / Experience Requirements:

Minimum Education & Experience:

• Previous experience with product attribution

• Functional understanding of retail business processes

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree

• 1 - 2 years of applicable retail experience

 

 

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

• Microsoft suite applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point). Proficiency in Excel.

• Strong communication skills – both oral and written.

• Ability to effectively report task status in a cross-functional environment.

• Must have organizational, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Must have the strong interpersonal skills required to meet routinely with individuals at all levels of the organization.

• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
