DESIGNER - DENIM / KNIT TOPS - HYBRID

CC Apparel an international apparel design, manufacturing and distribution company. The company operates a fully vertical manufacturing, sales and distribution network for owned, licensed and private label denim brands in the junior, missy, young mens and contemporary markets.

Primary Purpose of Position:

The Denim Designer demonstrates expertise and knowledge in apparel design concepts, practices, and procedures particularly in the womens denim & tops market. Individual will partner closely with design director & management to ensure the design department’s goals and calendar dates are met.

• Takes ownership of the all denim styles in the line and ensures every element and detail is completed in full, from concept to completion
• Ensure corporate design calendar deadlines are met each season
• Works closely with technical design to ensure garment details and specs are documented properly
• Uses trend intelligence to lead the research and development of seasonal trends as well as market competition
• Lab Dip approvals
• Partners with production department on Production fit and wash approval
• Fabric R&D all denim styles
• Creates and maintains wash and block library
• Attends proto fittings and production fittings as needed.  Ensures consistency of fit and garment details
• Executes drop requests, design changes and immediate requests from Sales team once approved by management
• Creates original hand sketches and Adobe Illustrator CAD sketches as needed
• Ensures original vision and fit expectations are maintained

Desired Skills and Experience

• Degree in fashion design, BFA preferred
• Minimum 5-7 years of direct design experience in the denim & knits market
• Thorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color ways, sewing techniques, graphics, trim and technical knowledge of fabric construction and wash/dye techniques
• Possess excellent hand sketching skills and is proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy
• Ability to analyze work load and plan accordingly
• Exceptional follow-up skills

SALARY:

$80,000-$85,000K. Based on Experience.
