Communications Coordinator - Calvin Klein

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Coordinator, Corporate Communications is responsible for supporting the Corporate Communications team and press communications across the company’s corporate and brand initiatives.  The role requires a strong ability to multi-task and an innate sense of urgency to promptly respond to and anticipate the team’s needs. The coordinator reports to the Director, Corporate Communications.

 

The Corporate Communications team drives the execution of CALVIN KLEIN brand storytelling and the executive communications strategy. It is part of the Consumer Engagement department which also includes product-focused Global Communications, Digital & Social Media and Marketing functions.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

  • Support Director and VP with presentations and upkeep of brand materials (boilerplates, brand guidelines, executive bios, media lists, etc.).
  • Develop a clear sense of the CALVIN KLEIN brand voice through exposure to CK social channels, press assets, and campaign launches.
  • Support the external communications strategy with competitive/market research.
  • Compilation of campaign assets and maintenance of documents surrounding press launches in partnership with Communications and Digital/Social Media teams.
  • Assist in maintaining a cross-functional calendar of key moments including events and campaigns for Consumer Engagement department.
  • Monitor the CALVIN KLEIN Communications mailbox and manage reactive inquiries
  • Daily review and dissemination of brand & executive mentions in trade and business press for senior management.
  • Effectively project manage by coordinating scheduling, agendas, recaps and other elements. 
  • Assist in the development of thoughtful, well-formulated recaps for brand initiatives.
  • Manage both internal and external requests for images/info, etc. Coordinate with CK regional offices as needed.
  • Organize and maintain digital folders to ensure materials are updated and current.
  • Oversee department invoicing and assist in managing and tracking the budget for the Corporate Communications team.
  • Cultivate relationships across the Consumer Engagement department to ensure strong collaboration with our team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

 

Experience:  

2 years’ experience in a corporate environment.

    

Education:   

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, PR, Marketing, English or related field.

 

Skills: 

  • Highly fluent in and comfortable with MS Office (specifically Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, be flexible, and work as part of a team
  • Grace and discretion dealing with executives, media, and outside contacts
  • General knowledge of fashion, art, design, lifestyle and media landscapes
  • Strong interest in and cultivation of industry knowledge, social media
  • Knowledge of media relations monitoring and management platforms a plus (i.e. DMR, Meltwater, Fashion Monitor, Tribe Dynamics, Fashion GPS)
