CATEGORY MANAGER, INDIRECT - PURCHASING, PROCUREMENT, SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER - Hybrid

We are working with a well-established, fast growing, large (annual revenue in the Billion $ range and thousands of employees worldwide), world leader of extruded staple fibers, woven & non-woven fabrics including needle punch nonwovens, geosynthetics, geomembranes, and other textile related products utilized in a wide variety of industries. Due to growth, the company has a need for an Indirect Category Manager - Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain. This position reports to the Corporate Procurement Manager. This is a hybrid role and candidates can be located near Houston Texas, Chattanooga Tennessee, Atlanta Georgia, or in the Northeast Georgia area.

As an Indirect Category Manager, you will have a vital role in overseeing the procurement and management of all indirect materials and services to support operations. Looking for experienced professionals who can leverage their expertise in category management, negotiation, and material knowledge to optimize indirect spend categories and contribute to the company’s ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management: Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for all indirect spend categories, ensuring alignment with company objectives/targets
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manager supplier relationships across various indirect categories, focusing on cost efficiency, quality improvement, and innovation
  • Negotiation: Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts
  • Cost Optimization: Implement cost reduction initiatives and process improvements to enhance cost competitiveness
  • Market Analysis: Continuously monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks for materials and services to ensure operational continuity
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with relevant teams to maintain and improve quality and efficiency of services and materials
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of indirect category management experience, geotextile and geomembrane industry experience is a plus
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of successfully negotiating favorable agreements in indirect categories
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and MS Office Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in ERP platforms such as Dynamics 365, SAP, AS400 is a plus
