CATEGORY MANAGER, DIRECT MATERIALS - NON RESIN - PURCHASING, PROCUREMNET, SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER - Hybrid

We are working with a well-established, fast growing, large (annual revenue in the Billion $ range and thousands of employees worldwide), world leader of extruded staple fibers, woven & non-woven fabrics including needle punch nonwovens, geosynthetics, geomembranes, and other textile related products utilized in a wide variety of industries. Due to growth, the company has a need for a Category Manager, Direct Materials - Non Resin -Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain. This position reports to the Corporate Procurement Manager. This is a hybrid role and candidates can be located near Houston Texas, Chattanooga Tennessee, Atlanta Georgia, or in the Northeast Georgia area.

As the Direct Materials Category Manager-Non-Resin, you will manage the procurement of all direct materials, excluding resin, across 7 facilities. This role, reporting directly to the Corporate Procurement Manager, demands an in-depth understanding of market dynamics, cost drivers, and technology trends in various material categories. You will leverage your category management and negotiation expertise to optimize our supply chain and contribute significantly to the company’s growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and manage procurement for non-resin direct materials
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers
  • Analyze market trends to inform procurement strategies
  • Implement cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives
  • Manage spend through the RFX, RFP, and RFQ processes
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to maintain product standards
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations in procurement processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 3-5 years of experience in direct materials category management
  • Strong negotiation skills and industry knowledge
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and spend analytics
  • Independent and team-working capabilities
  • High ethical and professional standards
  • Categories Managed: Finished/Semi-Finished Goods, Additives/Colorants, Packaging
