CAD Designer - Women's Sportswear
Alfred Dunner, Inc. has been a leader in women’s sportswear for over 70 years and has enjoyed a long history of continued growth and success in the industry. Our product can be found in quality department stores and specialty stores throughout the country.
We are currently looking for a CAD Designer who will be responsible for executing pattern and print development designs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and creation of original prints based on the design team’s concepts
- Reduce colors, recolor and create repeats of original and studio prints
- Set up engineered prints in production feasible layouts with clearly marked directions
- Create print packs including color pitches to send to overseas mills
- Comment on print submits from development through production, including strike-offs, sample yardage and bulk production yardage
- Daily communication with mills and factories, as well as internal communication with design, sales and technical design teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design
- 5+ years full-time CAD industry experience
- Knowledge of prints plus competence in all other areas of design
- Must have technical knowledge of print techniques and color
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office
- Must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and through email
- Must be able to multi-task and keep up with a fast paced environment
- Ability to comment on print engraving/technique and color
- Must have technical knowledge of garment construction and how it relates to various types of engineered prints
- Ability to follow deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of work
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Must have strong organizational skills
