CAD Designer - Women's Sportswear

Alfred Dunner, Inc. has been a leader in women’s sportswear for over 70 years and has enjoyed a long history of continued growth and success in the industry.  Our product can be found in quality department stores and specialty stores throughout the country.

 We are currently looking for a CAD Designer who will be responsible for executing pattern and print development designs.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and creation of original prints based on the design team’s concepts
  • Reduce colors, recolor and create repeats of original and studio prints
  • Set up engineered prints in production feasible layouts with clearly marked directions
  • Create print packs including color pitches to send to overseas mills
  • Comment on print submits from development through production, including strike-offs, sample yardage and bulk production yardage
  • Daily communication with mills and factories, as well as internal communication with design, sales and technical design teams

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design
  • 5+ years full-time CAD industry experience
  • Knowledge of prints plus competence in all other areas of design
  • Must have technical knowledge of print techniques and color
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and through email
  • Must be able to multi-task and keep up with a fast paced environment
  • Ability to comment on print engraving/technique and color
  • Must have technical knowledge of garment construction and how it relates to various types of engineered prints
  • Ability to follow deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of work
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must have strong organizational skills
