CAD Designer - Home Textiles - Freelance / Part Time

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

PLH is looking for a Part Time / Freelance Textile CAD Designer. Option to work from home. Must have all necessary software programs to work from home. The ideal candidate would have a degree in Textile Design or related field and 2-5 years experience designing for a home furnishing company.

RESPONSIBILITY:

• Work with Design team to help create patterns and develop original prints, patterns, repeats and colors
• Create and adjust bed mappings and layouts when necessary; fully proficient in color, indexing, producing artwork on a seasonal basis that maintains the aesthetics in print design and that is technically ready for production.
• Design print patterns for bedding and other decorative accessories
• Design packaging insert art to go with collection.
• Preapre all art files and color standards or overseas factory for sample development

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Design degree in textile/surface design
• Must have advanced knowledge of prints, patterns and repeats
• Proficiency in photoshop, Illustrator and Graphic design
• Strong color and print sense
