Premier Brands Group currently has a great opportunity for an Associate Sweater Designer. The Associate Designer will assist the design director with the execution of vision, style, and aesthetic, for the designated brand. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in product development at all stages under guidance of designers: sketching, detail sketches, pulling yarns and stitches, tech-packing (proto stage), trend presentation brochures, presentation boards etc.
  • Seasonal yarn and knit down development
  • Coordinate samples: check in proto & salesman samples; arrange samples & rolling racks
  • Measure protos in preparation for fitting
  • Assist in generating & update linesheets & color cards
  • Understand the customers by doing market research
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of the customer & competition
  • Shop retail floor
  • Concept research
  • Adhere to due dates for all stages of design
  • Able to adjust to changing business needs
  • Adjust to Time & Action calendar changes
  • Send out and follow up on packages for overseas vendors
  • Coordinate sample requests from sales & marketing etc
  • Attend fittings with production and technical design
  • Work with design, sales and production to effectively communicate departmental needs and design requests.
  • Participate in group meetings & trend shopping

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Fashion or BA in related science
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of professional experience in sweater category
  • Knowledge of Gauge, Stitches and Sweater Construction
  • Knowledge of Excel, word, Microsoft Outlook a must
  • Proficient sketching in Illustrator
  • Capable to in Photoshop
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range: 55K-70K *Actual base salary for this role within the above range will be based upon experience, qualifications and/or assigned unit.
