Associate Fashion Designer (Graphic Designer)

We are a fast fashion Young Contemporary Women’s apparel manufacturing company seeking a Fashion Designer with Graphic Designer experience. We are looking for someone with an eye for fashion and graphic trends reinterpreted in new creative ways, ability to quickly re-work art files and someone who understands designing within mass market cost parameters.

This role will work closely with the Senior and Lead Designer to execute predominantly tee and sweater product. Designs will need to follow trend and merchandising concepts as well as Buyer requested direction. Will be responsible for coordinating with production to ensure product quality from concept through production.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage design process from concept through to production ensuring quality and adherence to design specifications
• Conduct market research to identify industry key trends and innovations
• Create original designs for clothing
• Develop concepts, sketches, and prototypes for new collections
• Compile mood and CAD presentation boards and update line sheets
• Collaborate with team members to determine design direction and target market
• Select and source fabrics, trims, and materials as well as innovative trim development
• Create technical drawings and specifications for manufacturers
• High count of daily tech pack release, manage deadlines and ability to prioritize
• Attend fittings to ensure garment meets quality and fit expectations
• Sample tracking through email and PLM system
• Follow up with overseas and domestic factories
• Maintaining file organization and upkeep of material and sample libraries

Requirements:

• Strong graphic and fashion design abilities
• A two-to-four-year degree in Fashion/Apparel/Graphic related major
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Design
• Strong understanding of price conscious mass market, silhouettes, trims and knit fabric/yarn, and construction techniques
• Strong knowledge of color theory and design principles
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and technical CAD sketching
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
• Positive and flexible attitude is a must
• Must be organized, highly detailed, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work independently as well as be a team player
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
