ASSOCIATE DESIGNER

Associate Designer Job Specifics:

We are seeking a talented and creative Associate Apparel Designer to join our team temporarily with a possibility of a future full time position.  The candidate will contribute to the development of our licensed product lines. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion, a keen eye for detail, and a deep appreciation for the intellectual properties we work with. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with top-tier brands and bring their iconic characters and stories to life through apparel.

You will manage all aspects of production, working with our licensed brands while managing the approval process in a timely manner.

Must be extremely organized and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities include:

• Define brand aesthetic, set print design and trend direction for all apparel, including creating original print artwork and designs.

• Create, produce and manage original product designs and artwork, including the selection of best styles, fabrics, and trims to maximize product quality and design efficiency.

• Must have a passion for setting and implementing branding guidelines.

• Participate in new idea sessions and the development and execution of those ideas.

• Manage asset creation and production design calendars to ensure assets are created and products designed on time and ensure that colors and prints are executed accurately by factories.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Proficiency in: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat

• Ability to concept design solutions with limited direction.

• Ability to prioritize with tight deadlines and follow through.

• Ability to think outside the box and awareness of print and digital trends.

• Extremely detail oriented, well organized, strong problem-solving skills.

• Team player with positive “can-do” attitude.

• Strong verbal and written communication.

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in apparel design, preferably with a focus on licensed products.

The position will report directly to the Lead Designer. Work will be full-time and fun!
