About the Job:
In partnership with the Merchandising, Planning, and other cross functional teams, the Associate Allocator will maximize the potential of the business at the store and style level. Support execution of company financial plans by reviewing store opportunities and strategically allocating product to drive business for multiple categories. Ensure product flows are flawlessly executed to provide excellent customer service.

A day in the life, what you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams and management to develop and align product level strategies and to ensure consistency of information-sharing.
  •  Allocate merchandise based on strategies and performance at the color, size, fit, and price levels based on business trend and merchandising strategy.
  • Forecast in-season replenishment needs by style and store to support supply chain and planning.
  • Communicate risks & exceptions weekly at the style, store, or size level and suggest risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide size purchase guidance by category and style based on historic trend and product direction. Identify risks to store sizing presentation & communicate when available sizes are out of tolerance.
  • Develop and communicate pre-packing strategies that maximize efficiency of processing costs and speed at the DC and stores.
  • Provide pre-season guidance on the minimum purchase size by color to cover each potential store group.
  • Recommend regional and store cluster opportunity & distort allocations accordingly.
  • Recommend style level markdowns based on style and store performance.
  • Pre-Allocate Purchase Orders in advance to ensure consistent flow through the supply chain
  • Set-up and maintain Auto Allocation methods. Recommend flow orders as necessary.
  • Create and maintain weekly reports on allocation status, on-order quantities
  • Communicate to Visual team any presentation opportunity resulting from insufficient inventory levels.
  • Understand full product life cycle for timely execution of initial delivery, replenishment and exit strategies. Adapt these strategies to regional trends
  • Recommend and execute store to store stock balancing as necessary.
  • Partner with Store Planning team to ensure that grades and inventory levels by store and classification are sufficient based on store seasonality.
  • Execute opening store inventory plans and coordinate build activity with Store Planning team, balancing visual and financial objectives.
  • Meet with Store Planning team weekly to assess inventory build progress and review any risks to opening.
  • Identify and test opportunities to move our allocation tool forward.
  • Support Allocators and Senior Allocators as business needs require.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

What it takes to Join:

  •  Two to four year college degree.
  • Entry level, 6 months to 1 year of experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite, notably Microsoft Excel.
  • A clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them.
  • Team focus with ability to delegate work as business needs require.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional partners and come to consensus while evaluating complex inventory management decisions.
  • Flexible to the needs of the business during peak periods.
  • Strong listening, written and oral communication skills to articulate risks and opportunities in the business.
  •  Ability to Multi-task; prioritizing workload to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivation. Ability to identify needs of business & act upon them without being provided direction.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities & business processes.
  • Ability or aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
  • Strong logical, analytic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present business strategies and action plans formally
  • Experience in JDA Allocation or other Allocation tool is preferred but not required
  • Experience in customer-facing retail environment is preferred.

Salary Range: ($61,410 – $66,560)

  • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
  • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
  • Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.
  • Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel may be required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
