  • Assists in facilitating all aspects of design: from concept to final development of product
  • Assists in all aspects of daily follow up with external and internal business partners, i.e. email communication
  • Sketches in illustrator and updates silo matrix accordingly
  • Participates in fit process
  • Updates styles in Flex PLM
  • Participate & contribute in a meaningful way regarding product design during design meetings
  • Learn the creative process as well as observing other team members in the day to day workings
  • Fills bodies with art in blow up and working line sheet form (where time permits)
  • Assembles boards for account presentations (attaches color copies to boards and wraps mill punches for presentation)
  • Prepares and updates style adopt line sheet
  • Prepares proto requests
  • Upkeeping color rings each season for supervisor only
  • Communication of progress of above tasks with Supervisor
  • Focus on learning the creative process as well as observing the Design Manager and/or Associate Designer in the day to day workings
  • Additional tasks as directed

Experience and Skills

  • Possess excellent communication and analytical skills as well as have basic knowledge of garment construction, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim
  • Ability to interpret supervisors direction
  • The ability to act as liaison between many departments
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Interest in working in children's clothing preferred
  • Previous design work experience through internships or coursework
  • Standard office setting
  • Local business travel as required (currently estimated to be limited)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0 (3.2 stronglypreferred)
  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program
