Fabric Assistant

TITLE: Fabric Assistant

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Purchase Orders:
    • Help Set up and update seasonal fabric bulk order chart and replenishment order tracking chart
    • Assist in sending color and quality standards prior to all bulk orders
    • Arrange invoices to Accounting and issue debit notes when needed
    • Keep record of seasonal fabric and trim spending
    • Quality Control:
      • Ensure quality and consistency of all fabrics/trims received:
        • Follow QC  fabric checklist - make sure we have an updated quality standard sheet
          • Color
          • Hand feel
          • Weight
          • Drape
          • Width
          • Shrink test
          • Layout
          • QTY rcvd
      •  send comments to supplier/factory
      • Maintain record/standard card of all rcvd fabrics
  • Help Resolve any fabric/trim PO quality and color issues
  • Fabric Transfers
    • Help package & arrange shipment of fabrics/trims from NY office to oversees ftys for sample development
    • issue debit notes when required for all NY to FTY fabric shipments
    • PLM
      • Assist with entering and updating new qualities/colors, development, and production fabric quality information
      • Print headers and quality swatch cards
      • Upload and maintain DAM for all components/fabrics
        • Take photos of all components/fabrics
        • Upload to DAM with proper labeling
        • Fabric Library-
          • Help Maintain in-house fabric library/hangers
          • Create fabric/style hangers for customers and retail showrooms??
          • Help Ensure bulk, development, and presentation hangers are maintained
          • Help Ensure library is organized and current
          • In-House Headers and Record Keeping-
            • Generate headers/swatch cards for all qualities
            • Compare each lot of yardage that comes in to its appropriate color/quality standard
            • Organize production standards and submits in their appropriate binders
            • Domestic Fabric Inventory
              • Receive fabric & trims for in-house needs- delegate to assistant
                • Inspect, tag fabric, add to inventory, and maintain fabric racks. See fabric check-in procedure sheet for reference
  • Work with Technical Design and Cutters/Sewers to assess needs based on in-house development
  • Check off yield usage of in-house cutting tickets in inventory
  • Keep digital and physical fabric inventory organized; manage weekly
  • Lab Dips for New and Current Qualities
    • Assist in giving FTY/Mill comments within 24hrs of receipt
    • Help Maintain accurate records and communication of all comments in Tracking Chart and PLM
    • Maintain Color Board-
      • Ensure color names and swatches are up-to-date
      • Create swatches for new Bridesmaids fabrications and colors each season
      • Color Cards & Swatch Request Cards
        • Create color card templates for each season and division
        • Maintain/create development color cards and trunk show cards for market
        • Prepare requested bridal swatches for customers of E-commerce, Wholesale, and Retail teams
        • Organize swatch templates and order forms for 3x3” color swatch cards
        • Inspect and organize all swatch cards upon receipt from FTY
        • Pass to Production team for distribution to Wholesale, E-commerce, and Retail
        • In-house Fabric & Trim Replenishments
          • Work with other divisions to monitor and maintain the correct inventory
          • Send POs & debits when necessary
          • Maintain organized and well labeled inventory
