Apparel Designer (Children’s Sleepwear)

Creative and experienced Apparel Designer needed for opening in Bergen County, NJ, working for a compelling 125-year-old company in the children’s sleepwear division.  5+ years of experience in children’s apparel/sleepwear a must and experience working with Walmart and Target is essential.  Key attributes for this position are developing unique, trend right designs within a price point, a creative point of view and a real love to design!  This role will experience the entire design process from concept to finished sample for licensed and branded sleepwear, for girls and boys toddler to size 16.  This position reports to the Director of Design. 

• Photoshop and Illustrator is a requirement   
• Target and Walmart experience needed   
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrication and art techniques  
• Knowledge of Microsoft office and use of a product life cycle management system  
• 3D Browzwear/Stylezone programs and CTL knowledge is a HUGE plus!   
• Must be a genuine team player with a positive attitude and ability to work under tight deadlines  
• Create trend presentations, research & sketch bodies, work with graphic artists & create a unique product line 
• Create tech packs for production, design packaging and follow through on approvals/production details with our overseas team 

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field required. Compensation determined on experience.  Competitive benefits package offered.
