DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

It's an exciting time to join the David's Bridal team in this important role! We are in a transition unlike anything we have ever experienced, and we are more ready to serve her than we have ever been! 

We are looking for a Director, Product Management to join our IT team and lead the product software design process to preserve David’s status as the top Bridal retailer in the industry.  This is an incredible opportunity for a strong leader that has strong time-management skills and an analytical mindset. 

General Summary:

The Director, Product Management is responsible for leading the product software design and, working closely with engineering, UX, and the business teams to capture and document requirements, KPIs, and overall product strategy. They work cross-functionally with these teams to develop and communicate the long-term product strategy, medium and long-term I. T roadmaps, and epic and user-story level detailed requirements for their product on a daily weekly and quarterly basis. 

Principal Functions and Responsibilities:  

  • Drive the creation of a multi-year product strategy, based on industry and competitive research and an understanding where the technology is moving to, combined with a deep understanding of business and customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain both medium/long-term (roadmap) and short-term (epics/user-stories) requirements and work with internal and 3rd party engineering teams to build against those requirements. 
  • Communicate updates against the product strategy, roadmap, and user stories up at an executive level, across to organization to business/marketing/engineering leads, and down into the working development teams regularly. 
  • Continually refine the development team’s prioritization and backlog based on business, customer, and technical needs to help manage constrained resources in the development process and iteratively improve our offering. 
  • Monitor the retail industry and technology providers to provide leadership during executive discussions as a subject matter expert, introducing data/research-based insights into our evaluation process. 
  • Work with the Analytics team to develop KPI and detailed product dashboards to monitor user behavior, customer interactions, and operational issues to help identify customer pain points and to inform prioritization discussions.
  • Escalate and communicate, along with the development team, all blockers and projects risk and work with the team to continually develop creative solutions to them.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Years of Related Experience: 10+ years of business, marketing, or project management experience working with new and emerging technical development teams

Required Skills & Abilities:

Clear and concise communication; leadership; teamwork; analytical mindset; flexibility; negotiation skills a plus.

Other Requirements: Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Docs tools; strong time-management a must.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate promptly and accurately via computer, telephone or similar device with or without assistive technology
  • Ability to perform sedentary work
  • Ability to travel by car, rail or air
