Otis College of Art and Design, established in 1918, has been a national leader in art and design education for nearly 100 years. The College mission is to prepare diverse students of art and design to enrich our world through their creativity, their skill and their vision.
Currently serving approximately 1,100 full-time students, Otis awards the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 11 majors and the Master of Fine Arts degree in 4 majors. The College is located on three campus sites: the main Goldsmith Campus in West Los Angeles, near Marina del Rey and the Los Angeles International Airport; and the Graduate Fine Arts Campus, located in Culver City.
Job Announcement:
Otis College of Art and Design is accepting applications for a full-time faculty appointment in the Fashion Design program. This position is responsible for teaching studio courses at the junior level. The position reports to the Chair of Fashion Design.
Otis offers competitive compensation and benefits. Initial placement in rank is recommended by the Search Committee and requires review and approval of the Chair of the Rank & Promotion Committee and the Provost. The College does not grant faculty tenure; this is a renewable full-time faculty appointment subject to annual renewal based on a performance review. The anticipated start date is August 31, 2020.

Otis’ Fashion Design program provides students with rigorous learning experiences developing and editing ideas that address specific design challenges. Students become educated and practiced in all aspects of the design process as they work with current designers and expert faculty.
