Apparel Production Assistant

Looking for an Apparel Production Assistant for a sleepwear division in Hackensack, NJ. This person will be responsible for the production process between the design/licensing teams and overseas production team to ensure on-time delivery of approved goods. This is a small but nimble team and the environment is very fast paced.  

Salary depending on experience (3 years minimum experience needed) 

Job is NOT remote. Located in Hackensack, NJ 

Job responsibilities: 

  • Daily communication with overseas team and NJ design team/sales  
  • Daily production management, follow up, organization, and approvals for design team: lab dips, strike offs, pre-production samples  
  • Work with the design team and licensing team to set up and follow through on approvals  
  • Maintaining/filing/organizing all overseas submits in office and online  
  • Sample management and follow up for development and sales samples  
  • Reports to head of Design, works closely with designers/artists, licensing team and overseas production team  
  • Work in product tracking system (Blue Cherry) to enter in styles, follow through with production and licensor approvals  
  • Responsible for keeping on top of Production calendar for approximately 65-90 SKUs bi-annually 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Design/Production apparel experience needed, with a minimum of 3 years in fashion industry 
  • Basic knowledge of colors, fabrics, garment construction 
  • Super organized and very detail oriented 
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience with licensing is a plus 
  • Basic computer knowledge: Word, Excel, Adobe CS a plus: Illustrator/Photoshop 
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team 
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Must be able to manage a time and action calendar
