Senior Technical Designer - Eveningwear Specialist

Primary Responsibilities and Overall Objectives:

• A fit, style, and construction expert, who understands the Adrianna Papell brand, product history, and aesthetic requirements.
• Manage all technical requirements to develop and execute processes in product development
• Anticipate and resolve technical, fit and quality issues during product development stage and production fittings.
• Full understanding of quality standards to drive and maintain premium quality of the brand.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal skills.

 Education / Qualifications:

• Thorough understanding of product engineering, development, construction, components and manufacturing processes.
• Thorough understanding of garment and fabric technology and significant work experience in high fashion apparel.
• Strong understanding of fit and patternmaking.

 Work Experience and requirements:

• 10 + years Technical Design experience specializing in Evening dresses.
• Experience in product development.

 Technical Skills and knowledge: (e.g. Pattern making, Textile knowledge).

• An advanced understanding and practical application of garment sewing, construction design, patternmaking, and alterations and grading (preferably experience on CAD pattern system). For example, ability to make recommendations to reduce cost by making changes to garment construction without affecting integrity of garments.
• Ability to work across departments (design, production, foreign offices) and overseas factories.
• Ability to conduct fittings.
• Superior computer skills in in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PPT).
