Senior Sportswear / Lifestyle Apparel Designer

Almost Famous Clothing is seeking a highly talented and motivated Junior Sportswear/Lifestyle Senior Designer to join our creative team in New York for the launch of a New National Brand license division. Essential Responsibilities:

• Brand License experience a plus
• Create and develop sportswear/lifestyle lines for a new license division.
• Collaborate with Merchandiser to research and develop print and color to embody the license parameters.
• Oversee all aspects of the design process from concept through to production (sketching, sample development, fabric and trim development, fittings)
• Create style boards and meeting presentation materials.
• Work with internal cross-functional teams (art, tech, production) to execute product.
• Maintain design records and line sheets with up to date information.
• Communicate with overseas/local vendors and merchants.
• Oversee the approval of fabrics, trims and print strike-offs throughout the design development process.
• Travel as necessary

Qualifications and Competencies:

• 5+ years of junior apparel design experience
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design
• Understanding and knowledge of fundamental construction, patternmaking/sewing, and fit
• Understanding and knowledge of contemporary women's market
• Advanced proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
• Advanced flat sketching and CAD ability
• Advanced computer skills and experience using Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite applications
