Overview

Urban Outfitters is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to play a key role in the marketing content upload, product catalog management and visual merchandising for UrbanOutfitters.com. The Web Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of e-commerce operational tasks and duties, including site catalog management, new product activation, quality assurance, product attribution for search and navigation, website shop-ability and creation of brand appropriate web categories based on selling and merchandising strategies. This position will also be responsible for maintaining content on urbanoutfitters.com global websites and iOS/Android applications in a content management system (CMS). The position will work within the technical framework of a content management system, but will not be directly responsible for the configuration or development of this system. This position will be responsible for validating, analyzing and testing all content and content links to ensure that information is accurate, accessible, and user-friendly across internet browsers as well as mobile devices.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, highly flexible, and driven individual who can excel under pressure and tight time constraints. This position will be responsible for a multitude of tasks across the website relating to web merchandising and e-commerce marketing, including quality assurance of all content features and marketing assets before release to the customer. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, with the ability to filter and prioritize feedback and requests strategically are the keys to success in this role.

The Web Coordinator will be required to attend various meetings and will work collaboratively with Marketing, Merchandising, Creative, Buying, and Planning teams to insure accurate and timely delivery of projects. This position is highly collaborative and fast paced, while also requires someone who is able to work independently and prioritize their workload. Must be comfortable working with technical systems and troubleshooting web issues.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Ability to create compelling, trend-driven and brand appropriate product categories based on product attribution, merchandising feedback, current trends and analysis of product and category metrics.
  • Knowledge of and experience using content management systems; familiarity with HTML preferred.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills that can be applied inter/intra departmentally to obtain critical information from other teams or individuals.
  • Strong capacity for multi-tasking, organization, working independently and time management.  Candidates should be able to prioritize and maintain a high level of accuracy doing multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proactive personality that is able to identify and resolve technical issues before they go out to the customer; follow-through until resolution is vital.
  • An appreciation for and understanding of the Urban Outfitters customer and aesthetic.
  • A passion for retail and specifically ecommerce in today’s marketplace.
  • In-depth computer literacy and internet proficiency.

Preferred Skills

  • Competency with web-based product, content, or catalog management applications.
  • Visual merchandising experience, preferably web merchandising.
  • Understanding of a global marketing calendar.
  • Understanding of global e-commerce website experiences and international fashion markets.
  • Familiar with digital design and asset creation.
  • Technical expertise to answer questions about or troubleshoot problems with the website and CMS.
  • Competency pulling reports and interpreting basic website analytics.  IBM Core Metrics or Adobe Omniture is a plus.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
