ROLE:  VP, LICENSING

The VP, Licensing is a co-owner of the brand and a key member of the Women & Home Division. He/she will build revenue plans for brands in the portfolio on a quarterly and annual basis.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Partner with Licensees to drive and direct corporate initiatives ensuring global brand alignment
  • Identify and drive growth opportunities in collaboration with Licensees; Achieve mutual goals and objectives to drive sales with a cohesive brand presentation
  • Identify new licensing opportunities and solicit new partners in accordance with the business strategy and objectives
  • Travel regularly to key markets to maintain a solid understanding of retail landscape and meet with licensees and franchisees to gather feedback and identify areas of improvement/opportunity
  • Strategically evaluate business including sales plans, retail sales, market trends, and clearly communicate necessary changes to product, marketing and business plans
  • Direct team to manage communication, merchandising and marketing processes, and contract compliance between Licensee and our brands
  • Manage communications with licensing partners on any business issues; counterfeiting, trademark issues, distribution.
  • Collect retail sales reporting, analyze and distribute analysis to peers in order to identify growth opportunities in accordance with the Business Plan
  • Track royalty reports, minimums and distribution requirements; Negotiate and implement all contract amendments and renewals
  • Partner with in-house counsel on all legal agreements and ensure contract compliance
  • Empower and motivate team to participate in achieving mutual goals and objectives; Manage and develop team to increase contribution to the licensing partnerships
  • Collaborate effectively across the organization to gain support from internal teams to support business and product needs
  • Provide support to internal initiatives i.e. visual collateral, marketing

DELIVERABLES:

  • Achieve budgeted revenue by brand and for the portfolio in totality.
  • Identify, solicit, sign, terminate and modify licensing agreements in accordance with Business Plan, with approval of EVP, Women’s & Home
  • Deliver exceptional service for licensee partners and retailer satisfaction
  • Manage and updating the priorities of the Business Development team. 
  • Identify and initiate new methods of licensee growth while enhancing our brands in accordance with the Business Plan

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited college with 10+ years licensing experience in the fashion industry
  • Experience as a brand builder responsible for elevating brand image and retail performance
  • Strategic and Analytical thinker; facility with retail math and reporting analysis; Strong process orientation
  • True team-player who can effectively collaborate with internal and external partners i.e. Marketing, Legal, Licensees, Retail Partners
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Solid leadership presence with experience managing and developing a team
  • Resourceful and creative with ability to problem solve and respond appropriately and with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to travel as needed
