POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

Lead development of social and commerce strategies across all owned brand channels globally.

Define and communicate social media mission, vision and strategy at a brand and channel level.

Serve as the internal digital thought leader, helping to identify trends, evolving best practices, new technologies/tools for all social and commerce efforts from a global perspective that drive engagement and ROI.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Develops a strategic roadmap and vision for social, as a tool for engagement, awareness and conversion
  • Lead global reporting for all digital marketing efforts including Paid, Owned and Earned
  • Leads the creation of a digital approach that always starts with our consumer first, defining their needs and mapping a digital strategy that connects them to usable, relatable and impactful content
  • Leads coordination of global.com strategic marketing efforts and initiatives.
  • Develop global commerce marketing strategies for regional amplification. 
  • Drives the effectiveness of social campaigns.
  • Ability to build, motivate, and inspire teams; engage partners; and influence executive stakeholders.
  • Interact effectively with creative team providing vision and inspiration to integrate social concepts with broader campaign themes.
  • Partner with Global Analytics team on identifying opportunities for growth across consumer audiences within the digital ecosystem to acquire new, long term customers to drive increased revenue
  • Work closely with Global Media team on identifying digital partnerships inclusive of social platforms to drive business growth across brand and product marketing efforts
  • Collaborates with all members of the Global Marketing team during execution of all marketing, advertising and promotional activity from inception to completion.
  • Works to ensure integrated decision-making occurs by involving key stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Maintains ongoing communication flow and clearly defined process between Global Marketing and regional marketing directors for all social media
  • Lead in building strategic business alliances and delivering content across new media platforms.
  • Define and manage cross-functional integration of the social media discipline.
  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promote a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:      

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of team leadership experience, including managing people managers. Utilizing leadership skills to work across a complex matrix of stakeholders.
  • 8 to 10 years’ experience in digital strategy and channel development.
  • Ability to comfortably interface with all levels of management and to communicate cross-functionally in a structured and clear manner to influence outcomes.
  • 10+ years of media/marketing experience, preferably within a brand organization or advertising agency, with superlative knowledge of digital and social media
  • Understanding and experience of complex, multi-faceted business culture
  • Proven experience and expertise in social media and digital storytelling

                                 

Education:        BA in marketing/communications/business/liberal arts; MBA preferred

 Skills:              

  • Executive level business acumen and leadership skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to motivate and manage the work of a growing and dynamic team with a desire to deliver world-class work.
  • Ability to audit/measure, design and evolve a digital approach based on a deep understanding of today’s users and the target audience for future users.
  • Ability to find, evaluate, and weigh the risks and advantages of 3rd-party tools.
  • Deep knowledge of software solutions and systems.
  • An understanding that this is part technology, part content strategy, part marketing and that analytics are key and design is the differentiator.
  • Ability to be comfortable with uncertainty and can act with agility
  • Proactive with strong desire to work in a fast paced, solutions oriented product delivery environment.
  • Experience developing and designing for mobile platforms (IOS and Android), Front-end performance optimization techniques.
  • Works collaboratively with fellow developers, customers, and other team members.
  • Strong presentation and written and spoken communication skills.
  • Extremely strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, stakeholder, and vendor management skills
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and work under pressure
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
