VP Business Strategy, Adaptive - Tommy Hilfiger

 

The Vice President of Business Strategy for Adaptive will serve as a strategic driver of a new business. A critical focus of this role will be to serve as a strategic partner to the cross-functional senior management team to provide insight into the Adaptive business and provide guidance on opportunities and potential threats in the market. The VP will have a dual report into EVP Wholesale and EVP Global Supply Chain.

The selected candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who can provide input into future sales growth and sales goals, along with strategic directions and priorities while implementing brand specific sales strategies. Desired candidate background includes not only apparel industry experience with multi-location wholesale distribution experience, but experience with the Ecommerce channel.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive sales strategy for both wholesale and retail which outlines brand growth objectives
  • Create strong customer and vendor relationships
  • Further develop strategic account relationship by enhancing planning, sales and forecasting tools, customer-specific product, and merchandise flow
  • Make recommendations regarding future pricing strategies, cost saving and profit generating opportunities
  • Communicate a consistent, cohesive brand message to each account with a focus on strategic selling
  • Leverage the existing analytical capabilities to build best-in-class processes that turn those insights into strategic sales action plans
  • Plan and organize national meetings
  • Be a brand ambassador with a passion for the brand and the Adaptive business
  • Responsible to manage to budget.  Partner with EVP in developing budget for specific lines items (headcount, travel, samples, media).  No direct P&L ownership

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree
  • 10+ years of experience progressing from account management into sales leadership roles
  • Experience in a cross-channel environment as a wholesale and retail sales builder who is effective at forging strong customer relationships
  • Experience with CRM and ERP operating systems
  • Agility in problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational skills
  • Ability to forge relationships internally and externally and has a track record of motivating teams
  • Flexibility
  • Understand the business and the big picture
  • Position requires quick decision making in on the ground, executive management capacity as well as ability to discern proper strategies and necessary approvals
  • Has a strong passion for sales, and has a sense of creativity that is balanced by a strategic and analytical understanding of driving business forward
  • 30%- 40% travel to trade shows and key customer visits
