Job Description
The Vice President of Marketing will support HBC’s Off-Price division comprised of Gilt.com and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH. This role is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to support the business in driving sales for the Off-Price division in partnership with the Marketing Centre of Excellence (COE) for marketing channel tactics, execution and creative. This role will lead a team of marketers in owing the vision and strategy related to our customer, our brand and the overall budget allocation and spend. The ideal candidate will have deep marketing expertise with detailed knowledge on building and executing marketing strategies; having the ability to lead their team to deliver on these strategies, while being passionate about fashion and everything retail.
Job Description:
Develop vision and deliver all channel strategy for the brands including target customer, brand and competitive positioning. Work with senior leaders to ensure all key stakeholders and teams are aligned; communicate the strategy across the organization and provide monthly/quarterly/seasonal updates.
Build marketing budget by brand and channel. Monitor monthly performance and redirect funds within the year based on performance and business needs. Set annual editorial budget by brand to deliver on strategy; monitors in-season performance and directs adjustments accordingly.
Own customer target and brand positioning. Partner with leaders in the COE’s related to analytics on research and segmentation needs. Guide team on current and lapsed customer analysis; set goals and partner with COEs on action plans for customers and prospects. Share customer information with creative (photo, styling, design and copy), merchandising, PR, marketing and planning partners to ensure strategies are aligned.
Establish and deliver on seasonal priorities with merchandising, planning and CRM leaders based on customer priorities and prior year intel. Lead team in development of seasonal ideas, promotional moments and partnership opportunities through brainstorming and calendar roadmaps sessions. Cascade needs to PR, business development, social, marketing and events teams.
Define marketing toolkit available to partner brands by level of significance to the business. Cascade information across teams, monitor ongoing needs and performance of tactics within the toolkit. Assist merchandising with new and existing vendor proposals and pitch sessions.
Establish seasonal needs for talent and promotional partnerships in support of the core businesses. Manage team members in prospecting, deal structure and prioritization of opportunities; coordinates with business development and PR teams on paid and earned opportunities
Sign off on all major marketing plans, briefs and creative content; sets style guide in partnership with creative COE for both banners. Monitor campaign outcomes, drive team and consensus surrounding action plans.
Work with cross-functional leadership and COEs to establish, maintain and manage process that are streamlined, effective and empowers the teams for campaign planning/execution and creative
Advocate for teams regarding tools, features and functionality needed on site and within our mobile apps to drive the business and customer engagement. Works with senior leaders in tech and product to prioritize needs, timing and investment; procures budget where needed
Directly manage 4 direct reports plus one dotted line Account Manager within the marketing COE. Coach team on strategy, analysis, inter-company partnerships, brand partnerships, talent and individual development.
