Vendor Analyst, Jockey

Job Description

Role Mandate:

 

The primary responsibility of the Vendor Analyst is to maximize sales and profit through in stock and merchandise turnover based on the strategic direction of the merchandising function.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Recommends order quantities based on HBC ordering units and Vendor cube requirements while operating within financial commitments of both HBC and Vendor
  • Provide input into pre-season order quantification and coordinate processing of buyer distributed orders
  • Ensure all stores have in stock of promoted product and all SKUs are active and cycling for new programs
  • Ensure launch product is shipped at the earliest availability and that we stay in stock until the product is removed from launch status
  • Monitor and analyze financial results to achieve industry standards and make recommendations

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Post-Secondary education in Business or a related field of study; or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in retail analysis and/or merchant support preferred
  • Superior computer-based analytical skills with a detailed understanding of current technological tools including Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to look at a problem from all angles
  • Quick decision makers – confident tenacious – no procrastination
  • Flexible and able to multi-task
