VAS / SHIPPING MANAGER

 

Position Summary:

HUGO BOSS is a world market leader in the premium fashion and luxury segment of the apparel market.  The Savannah Distribution Center currently operates as a Foreign Trade Zone and receives/ships approximately 5 M units annually to 80 company owned Retail stores and over 300 Wholesale doors.

Candidate needs to manage and maintain flow of flat goods through our Value Added Services area. After VAS is completed, he/she will be expected coordinate staging of outbound cartons in designated areas, awaiting carrier pick-up. Position is also responsible for meeting or exceeding established customer service levels. Candidate will be responsible for coordination, verification and loading of all outbound shipments and associated paperwork up to and including driver signature on Bill of Lading (BOL).   

Essential Functions:

  • Establish and maintain staffing level of VAS based on hourly throughput
  • Ensure all VAS team members are fully trained on all facets of price ticketing
  • Monitor and maintain productivity and aging reports for VAS
  • Establish and coordinate staffing level of shipping dock to allow for all daily operations (staging, loading, problem resolution) to occur simultaneously on occasion
  • Ensure all shipping team members are fully trained on all shipping tasks
  • Maintain customer service levels of wholesale and retail channels
  • Verify all BOL’s are completed and loaded prior to driver signature and invoicing
  • Audit of carton counts and paperwork for accuracy
  • Provide positive feedback to team when appropriate
  • Distribute disciplinary actions as needed through progressive disciplinary program
  • Maintain shipping, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Duties assigned by supervision that may not be related to above functions
  • Enforce dock safety at all times. Also make all associates check that truck ignition is off and chock blocks are secure before receiving cargo.

Knowledge, Skill, Experience:

Minimum Education ( or substitute experience) required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering, masters preferred
  • Training or Experience in applying LEAN or Six Sigma Principles

Minimum Experience required:

  • 5+ years of previous experience in progressively senior leadership roles within Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in apparel or retail industry preferred
  • Leadership and change management skills required
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
  • Unquestionable work ethic, personal integrity and honesty

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge in ERP systems, SAP in particular, exposure to Warehouse Management Systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, power point, or similar collaborative tools
  • Exceptional communication skills
