Responsible for supporting the materials team in developing, and
commercialization of globally relevant material solutions for
VANS footwear. This role will also assist the development group
with the launch of the VANS PLM system. The ability to approach
this position from both an analytical and creative mindset will
be essential to this role.


Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining the VANS materials studio and
ensuring the latest materials are organized and presented
with accurate information.

• Accountable for price color coding new seasonal leather and
synthetic articles.

• Assist material managers with supplier communications to
coordinate leather and textile developments.

• Support materials group in executing both seasonal and long
term projects.

• Actively participate in building out the online PLM material
records.

• Research and present relevant material trend ideas and
concepts.


Skills:

• Employ a strong project management skill set (Initiation,
Planning, Execution, Monitoring, Closing).

• Possess fluent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Photoshop,
Illustrator).

• Ability to clearly communicate, including both inter team and
cross cultural communication.

• Proficient organizational skills.

• Strong commitment to meeting deadlines in a timely manner.

• Ability to work cooperatively within a team structure as well
as other departments and vendors.


Educational/Position Requirements:

• Students or recent graduates, majoring in fashion, textile,
product development, business or engineering.

• Knowledge of footwear and current industry wide trends across
both athletic and lifestyle brands.

• Previous consumer product development internship experience
preferred, but not required.

• Willingness to learn.
