Overview

Urban Outfitters is looking for an exceptional, talented candidate to monitor the language translation, overall quality, localization and functionality of our French Canadian website.  The translation work will involve mastery of correct grammar, syntax and punctuation.  An ideal candidate should have high work quality standards and be comfortable identifying incorrect translations, context issues, and appropriate retail / fashion / trend terminology.  This position will be responsible for ensuring our brand is appropriately represented and communicated in country. 

Responsibilities

• Accuracy and quality of all linguistic content on the website.
• Verify context accuracy in relation to the language and culture.
• Review and proofread translated text.
• Perform translation support for other ecommerce functions including but not limited to email marketing, website creative / content and brand bios.
• Work hand in hand with front-end development and quality assurance teams to ensure success of ongoing enhancements and functional changes to the website.

Qualifications

• Perfect mastery of French Canadian and English languages.
• Proficiency in writing and proofreading text.
• Good communication and team work skills as well as the ability to work independently and diligently.
• High degree of computer literacy.
• Prior experience in ecommerce and / or fashion preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in translation and/or equivalent experience.
