Overview
The role of a Team Leader at UO is to create an engaging shopping experience for our customers while working in a place where you can share your love for music, design and style and interact with people in a real and authentic way.

Roles + Responsibilities
Customer Connection
- Initiates conversation and interacts with the customer in an authentic, personalized way
- Utilizes technology to enhance the customer’s experience
- Shares advice, product knowledge and personal experiences to engage with the customer
- Suggests alternate products, complementary pieces, outfitting tips, or styling ideas based on the customer’s personal style and interests
- Takes ownership of the sales floor and sales team to ensure customer interaction is the #1 priority
- Actively involved in the onboarding of new hires and provides continuous training and feedback to the team
Communication + Collaboration
- Exhibits a willingness to learn and adapt, maintaining an ongoing connection with the customers and team
- Shares good ideas with the team to impact the store processes
- Collaborates with management and peers, sharing good ideas with the team and actively participates in daily meetings, store projects, and business focuses
- Contributes to the overall vibe building shared fate by being positive, respectful and helpful to others
- Partners with store leaders to celebrate individual and team accomplishments
Merchandise + Product Knowledge
- Knows what’s new and what’s selling well throughout the store and shares that knowledge with the customer and team
- Well-informed on events and special offers in store and online providing customers with a seamless shopping experience
- Communicates customer feedback and partner with visual team to maintain the Urban Outfitters visual and display standards
Business Acumen
- Takes ownership and initiative to drive store sales and operational results by utilizing KPI results
- Ensures daily directives (operational + merchandising) are completed while keeping the focus on the customer experience
- Able to function in high stress situations
- Maintains a clean and safe store environment
- Demonstrates awareness and adheres to Loss Prevention, Inventory Control and all other Company policies and procedures
